Dan joined FBinsure as a Risk Advisor in June of 2023. He graduated from Boston College with a Bachelor’s in Accounting.  He was drafted in the 5^th round of the 2003 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots and went on to have an 11-year NFL career, 9 with the Patriots and 2 with the Denver Broncos.  During his career, Koppen was on 5 teams that made Super Bowl appearances, winning back-to-back titles in 2003 and 2004. In 2007, the Patriots finished the season 16-0 - the first team to ever to do so.  Bill Belichick said of Koppen in 2007, “He’s as good as anybody I've been around at communication and identification and just being football smart.". Koppen retired after the 2013 season, having started 151 games, including playoffs.

After football, Koppen was an analyst for NBC Sports Boston and co-founded LineSider Brewing Company in East Greenwich., RI.   He spent 3 years working for SquadLocker, a tech-led apparel company, serving in Business Development.
