I started out in the insurance field by accident. It was in 2008 when my insurance journey began. My uncle was the owner of Alves Insurance Agency in Fall River. He was short staffed and I opted to help him and join his team. It was something out of my element but a risk I was willing to take. As the days, weeks and months went by I began enjoying insurance more and more. In 2012 he retired and I had a received a phone call from the manager at Castelo Insurance, letting me know that the Sales Rep from Liberty Mutual notified them I’d be a great candidate to join Castelo Insurance. I decided to take a chance and join the Castelo team. It was here where I learned more than ever as I was introduced to more companies and learned what I know today.

I have a weakness for people who can make me laugh. As I’ve become older, I understand how important it is to surround yourself with people who are happy in life and who also take the time to make others happy. I will always cherish laughter, as it’s one of the best qualities we have. Life is too short to take it too seriously. We have to live each day like our last, and spending it with those who make us laugh and feel loved is the best feeling ever. Laughter is the cheapest medicine and it’s the language that everyone in the world can understand.

My favorite color is Orange. It reminds me of a sunrise, which is a symbol of a new day. Orange reminds me of sitting around a fire on a summer night and just relaxing the night away. To me, Orange is an energetic color that also symbolizes happiness, creativity and enthusiasm. Orange also reminds me of my favorite season, which is fall.

The best vacation I ever had was when I went to St. Michael, Azores and then Lebanon for my honeymoon. My husband Elie and I decided to explore each other’s cultural background by visiting our countries. The Azores are considered to be the Hawaiian Islands of Europe, and that indeed is accurate. St. Michael life is simple, serene and unhurried. We got to visit their most famous twin Lakes, visit the Pineapple farms and enjoy sweet corn boiled in the volcanic hot springs. The island is full of gorgeous mountains and wherever you go, you are one with nature. The 2nd ½ of our trip was heading to the Middle East – Lebanon. Lebanon and St. Michael are two completely different lifestyles. The nature in Lebanon is stunning. We made it to Jeita Grotto, which is one of the longest caves in the Middle East. Upon walking a long concrete pathway we entered into the caves and were surrounded by beautiful waterfalls and crystalized formations. It really connects you to Mother Nature. Byblos, Jbeil, was where we spent most of our nights. The picture perfect sunsets along the Mediterranean Sea, cobble stone alleys and old world charm made for a relaxing and charming night. We are hoping to visit our countries every few years.

I’d have to say that my spirit animal is an otter. They’re best known for being laid back, but yet always moving around and are always up to something. They are an imaginative creature and hard working. I compare myself to them because I am a hard worker, determined to explore new paths in life and taking anything that comes my way. Creativity and imagination are key in life. I have a passion for crafting, event décor and party planning. Otters are also very curious creatures as am I, always looking to find something new to try. Otters are known for playfulness and any moment I can enjoy a laugh or two, is a moment always cherished.

The wisest thing ever said to me was: Rome wasn’t built in a day. If you want something you have to work hard, and with the right timing you will get it. Which is leading me to pursue my P&C license and further my career.

My greatest inspiration is none other than my family but most importantly, my daughter. She is so full of energy and seeing her happiness is what makes me push forward and be the best person I can be for her. I know that no matter what happens in life, my family will always support me and guide me in the right direction.

My pet peeves are Complainers. Life is too short to complain. If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude. We all have one life to live, enjoy the most of it as none of us know when it’s over.

Family to me means supporting one another through thick and thin. Family is life’s greatest blessing and the best team you could have.
