This month’s Jeans Day advocate is Judi Kagiwada from our Personal Lines Sales Team. Judi is no stranger to the YMCA’s mission. She has served on their Board of Governors’ since 2009 which has given her the opportunity to see firsthand how the lives of so many have been enriched through various Y programs. Judi also attends many YMCA sponsored events. Her favorite memory is hearing a young mom speak of how her special needs daughter has flourished in the Y Ability program. This is a program for children with developmental disabilities. The counselors in this program taught her daughter how to swim. This mom expressed that knowing her little girl can be safe in or near the water is a huge peace of mind.
The Y is a powerful association of men, woman and children committed to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Old Colony YMCA serves 31 communities in Southeastern Massachusetts with programs designed to build healthy spirits, minds, and bodies for all ages and abilities. Old Colony YMCA is one of the largest human service providers in Southeastern Massachusetts serving over 140,000 children and families.
The YMCA believes that every life is based on defining moments both big and small. The Old Colony YMCA impacts thousands of lives by offering encouragement, a safe place, and a helping hand to those in the community.
Each year the Y raises money through the generosity of the communities they serve. This allows the Y to give back to individuals and families that otherwise would not have financial access to the multitude of services their organization offers.
