On our (early) July’s Jeans Day, the FBinsure team is throwing on jeans and donating dollars to support the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and The Jimmy Fund. This month’s charity is chosen by our very own Amy Duckett, a Client Service Manager, who will be participating in the 2019 Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk on September 22nd! This month’s donations to her walk directly support Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge science and highly compassionate cancer care. The support received allows Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatrics and adult patients and their families.
Amy is not only walking for the Jimmy Fund but also walking for herself. Three years ago, Amy suffered a medical scare and was helped by the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute when she was required to go in for major surgery to determine if she had cancer. The compassionate medical staff and support team were able to guide her through a successful recovery and determine she is cancer-free. She very grateful for them and the care they provided to her. This walk is close to her heart because she is walking to support them and to support others.
Our team will be wearing jeans (or perhaps jean material clothing with the heat) in support of Amy and this great cause. Best of luck during the marathon, Amy, we’re rooting for you!
